Tinlicker ft. Nathan Nicholson - Be Here And Now

Een single met internationale allure.

Deze week verscheen de nieuwe single van het Utrechtse producersduo Tinlicker, getiteld Be Here And Now met Nathan Nicholson van The Boxer Rebellion op zang. Nicholson schreef zelf de tekst en legt er duidelijk hart en ziel in. Het geheel heeft weg van Oscar And The Wolf, maar heeft zo mogelijk nog meer internationale allure. Die wordt nog onderstreept door de monumentale video met Gouden Kalf-winnaar Werner Kolf in de hoofdrol.

Quote Tinlicker: "Het idee voor het nummer is ontstaan op het voormalige zendstation Radio Kootwijk, toen Jordi op een korte vakantie was. Radio Kootwijk is omgeven door bomen en het was herfst. Dat is waar de inspiratie vandaan kwam voor de instrumentale orkestrale partij. Het was erg leuk om Nathan Nicholson van The Boxer Rebellion de demo te sturen. Toen hij de tekst voor het nummer had geschreven, viel alles op zijn plaats en konden we het afmaken."

Nathan Nicholson: "When Tinlicker first sent me the instrumental for this song, long before they gave it rhythm, I fell in love with it - just piano and strings. It was very powerful and a lot of the lyrics and all of the melody came out on my first pass. The lyrics are about a longing for the past and the innocence of growing up. I lost my mom when I was eighteen and within a year moved from Tennessee to England, so my childhood into adulthood has a very strong line running in between. I'm at a constant war with nostalgia - the other life - and where I am right now. This song I'm simply telling myself to have reverence for my past, but not to be beholden to it. A huge thanks to Tinlicker for asking me to be a part of it."
