Phosphorescent komt niet zomaar naar Autumn Falls

Matthew Houck komt naar Autumn Falls en dat is niet zomaar.

Eerder was al gemeld dat Matthew Houck aka Phosphorescent naar Autumn Falls komt op 23 oktober. Vandaag kondigde de man een nieuw album aan. ‘C’est La Vie’ zal het schijfje heten en New Birth In New England mag de plaat inluiden.

‘C’Est La Vie’ is de eerste plaat van Phosphorescent in vijf jaar. Het is de opvolger voor de prachtplaat ‘Muchacho’. Dat Houck zo lang uit de spotlights bleef, is niet ongewoon. In de tussentijd werd hij verliefd, stichtte hij een gezin en verhuisde hij van New York naar Nashville waar hij ook nog eens een nieuwe studio bouwde. Er zijn mensen die minder uitsteken in vijf jaar.

‘C’est La Vie’ werd uiteraard opgenomen in zijn eigen studio en door Houck zelf geproduced. De mix liet hij over aan Vance Powell, bekend van zijn werk voor o.a. Arctic Monkeys en Jack White.

En omdat bij een plaat een perspraatje hoort, krijgt u dat ook nog: "With a focus on translating these profound experiences to music as intuitively as he could, Houck pushes the boundaries of what a Phosphorescent record can sound like, balancing the earthy and the incandescent, the troubled and the serene, creating his own musical cosmos in the process."
